We have close links to our local village school as well as other surrounding schools. At Newick Preschool we work part of a Hub with other schools and Early Years settings – when we work together throughout the year to support all children’s transitions to Primary School. We invite Reception Teachers to visit the preschool in the Summer Term so that they can meet the children and liaise with Key Persons to discuss individual likes, interests and needs.
Parents and children are also invited to visit the local Primary Schools for ‘Stay & Play’ sessions so that the children can become more familiar with the new environment and new adults.
We involve parents/carers in the process of the transition to Primary School and invite you to attend Twilight Sessions to further inform you on how best to support your child with the transition.
