Katy Elliott – Manager
I am Katy the pre-school manager and I run the pre-school with my friendly team of experienced professionals. I am the settings safeguarding and SENCO Lead and attend regular training to support my roles.
I have worked in early years settings since 1998. I gained my Level 3 Early Years Certificate in June 2000 and then completed the Level 4 qualification.
I have been in a managerial role in early years settings since 2009. I have been the manager of Newick pre-school since September 2016. In 2013 I gained the Early years foundation degree qualification. I have two young boys. I enjoy spending quality time with my boys and family. When I am not at the pre-school I enjoy going on holidays and watching shows at the theatre.
Jan May – Deputy Manager
I qualified in 1988 with a NNEB level 3 qualification. I have worked in several day nurseries in Brighton and Lewes area before having a family. I have two grown up daughters. I have worked at Newick pre-school since February 2003 when my youngest daughter was three years old. I enjoy working in the community pre-school, it is lovely to see the children grow up and mature in to young adults. I live near the Reading rooms on a small farm, holding a variety animals. The children enjoy coming down to the farm. My interests are being an active member of Newick bonfire society, cooking, walking, swimming and being outdoors with the farm animals.
Olivia Campbell – Practitioner
I qualified in 2014, completing a level 3 Early years course. I have worked in pre-school settings since leaving college. I have been a nanny for a local family since 2017. I have worked at Newick pre-school since 2017. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, going on holidays to different places.
Pauline Reardon – Practitioner
I gained my NVQ level 3 child care qualification in 2005. I have worked in child care since 1990 in a variety of different settings including, nurseries, Pre-Schools and creches.
I enjoy going to the theatre and spending quality time with my grandchildren. I enjoy spending time with the children and supporting their learning and interests.
Emma Martin – Practitioner
I joined the pre-school team in September 2018. I live in the village and my two boys attended the pre-school. During their time at the pre-school I was a committee member. I qualified in 1998 and have worked with children in various roles ever since. In my spare time I like spending time with my family, usually outdoors and involving mud. I enjoy cooking, running and Pilates.
Vix Corbett – Practitioner
I qualified as a Primary Teacher back in 2006 and worked in various roles across Sussex and Hampshire. I was Deputy Headteacher and Specialist Leader of Education during my time working with Local Authorities to improve and develop practice in Early Years and KS1.
I have two children who currently attend Newick Primary School and who both attended (and loved the Preschool here). We spend most of our spare time in the outdoors, sailing, kayaking, climbing and walking our dog Hettie.
