Over the weekend of the 7th – 8th November 2020 the children from Newick Pre-School and their families took part in a Stroll through the Deep Dark Wood finding 12 characters from their favourite Julia Donaldson books.
The children were sponsored to take part in order to help our Outstanding pre-school, a registered charity, reach its fundraising target of £1,000 in 2020/21.
The trail took place in Beechland Mill Wood – the woodland to the south of Newick Primary School, which is accessed via the footpath immediately to the west of the school.

The Pre-School Committee is delighted to announce the total money raised from last weekend’s Sponsored Stroll through the Deep Dark Wood was a staggering £1,193!
This is wonderful news and will enable the Pre-School team to update their IT equipment and music resources.
